next project

It's just a quick sketch.
I'm going to make a relief with polymer clay, and put it on front bumper.
Also, I'm thinking to put this design on both side of front fender.(using vinyl cutting sheet.)

New seat

All right. I've been regularly commuting on my motorcycle, started thinking cars are
just boring. At one point, I even thought about selling this car.Luckily I changed my mind. So here's the Miata project phase 2.

Memoryfab carbon/kevler composite seat. Nice :-) (And I did get it for the pirce of carbon fiber seat. Thanks to nice people at Memoryfab.)

And here are pictures of my "brother" (different father, different mother, you know what I mean ;-)

Seat Part 2 (driver side)

Stock seat skin.

Back rest. Took off the stock lumber support and made new one from memory foam and arm rest for computer mouse.

Dark gery thing is another memory foam pad. This one's slightly higher density. (These are used for seat cushion. The lighter tan colored one is for matress.)

The finished photo. (not a good one. I was waaay too tired. I'll take another photo later. But you get the idea.)

seat(passenger side)

Here are some photo's of re-upholstering the miata seat. The seat skin is made by Katzkin.(purchased through Crazy Red in Sacramento 'cause Katzking only deals with dealership/shop.
It is slightly lighter shade of tan than stock seat. Also , "crease(wrinkle?) " on the new seat is because of "gethered insert" of the new skin (as opposed to tight fit of OEM seat style.) You may or may not like the look in the photo, but seeing it in the flesh, it doesn't look bad. I've chosen gethered because I was going to modify the sitting position, both bottom and backrest. I got a piece of memory foam and replaced it with stock lumber support panel.
